Benchmarking Visit to EWASCO

On May 25, 2023, representatives from Nanyuki Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NAWASCO), Nyahururu Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NYAHUWASCO), and the Ministry of Water and Natural Resources in Laikipia County visited Embu Water and Sanitation Company Limited (EWASCO) for a benchmarking session.

The Chairman of EWASCO’s Board, FCPAK John Nyaga, hosted the board members from the two water companies and representatives from the Ministry of Water in Laikipia County. They began the visit by touring the source of EWASCO’s water, treatment works, and storage tanks. They also visited the new sewerage treatment works at Dalas Estate in Embu town. Later, they convened in the EWASCO boardroom for a learning session.

Leah Njeri, the CECM Ministry of Water and Natural Resources for Laikipia County, stated that the purpose of the benchmarking visit to EWASCO was to understand the high standards of performance that EWASCO achieves and what sets it apart from other water service providers in the country.

Maureen Mukami, the Chief Officer of Water and Irrigation in Embu County, emphasized the importance of the strong relationship between Embu County and EWASCO as a key factor in their success.

CPA Dickson Njiru, the Acting Managing Director of EWASCO, expressed gratitude to the visitors for recognizing EWASCO as one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.

The event was attended by Bernard Mwaura, the Managing Director of NYAHUWASCO, Kennedy Gitonga, the Managing Director of NAWASCO, board members from NAWASCO, and other leaders.
