EWASCO’s Donation: 500 Tree Seedlings for Young Farmers Clubs of Kenya’s Tree Planting Event at St. Bakhita Siakago Girls Sec. School

The Young Farmers Clubs of Kenya (YFCK) is an affiliate of the Agriculture Society of Kenya. Its primary objective is to empower and motivate young people to consider agriculture as a viable employment option while also fostering the development of life skills for sustainable development and self-sufficiency.

On May 20, 2023, EWASCO was honoured to be invited to the YFCK National Tree Planting Event, held at St. Bakhita Siakago Girls Sec. School in Embu County. During the event, EWASCO generously donated 500 tree seedlings. The seedlings were presented to the school by Mary Mugwira- Head of Corporate Services, Joy Kariuki- Public Relations and Communications Officer, and Ezekiel Kathuri- Head of Sewerage Services.

The donation was warmly received by Mr. Njongwa- The Head of Humanities, Mr. David Njagi-Patron of the Wildlife and Environmental Club, and a few students from Siakago Girls. They expressed their commitment to caring for the trees and ensuring they are watered in alignment with the President’s national initiative to plant and grow over 15 billion trees as a response to the effects of climate change.
