To improve service delivery in Embu town and its surroundings, EWASCO has repossessed the Kapingazi intake.
EWASCO, Embu Water and Sanitation Company Limited, has taken back the Kapingazi intake from the New Kapingazi project to enhance the delivery of services to the people of Embu town and its surrounding areas, particularly from Kangaru to Moi Stadium. At a meeting held at the Nginda Ngandori head office, EWASCO Managing Director CPA Dickson Njiru expressed his appreciation to the Nginda Ngandori administration and the New Kapingazi factory for allowing them to take back the intake and provide better service to the customers. The Kapingazi intake was originally serving the New Kapingazi coffee factory.
During the meeting, it was decided that EWASCO will connect the pipeline from the Kapingazi intake to Kangaru, where the water will be treated. Tana Water has already agreed to work with EWASCO to renovate and service the intake. The Managing Director of the Nginda Ngandori Water Consumer’s Association, Eng. Geoffrey Gichatha, also agreed to partner with EWASCO to ensure customer satisfaction.
The new pipeline will serve several areas, including Moi Stadium, Kangaru, the University of Embu, Embu Level Five Hospital, and others. This development coincides with the upcoming Madaraka Day Celebrations in Embu county.
The meeting was attended by several individuals, including Martin Muriuki, the Housing Manager for Kapingazi factory, Thomas Gicovi, the Chairman of New Kapingazi Coffee factory, and other officials from EWASCO.
